Test Prep New York recruits top tutors in the field, ensuring every student works with an expert in the subject or test you’re studying for. You will be paired with a dynamic, inspiring educator who has the ability to translate his or her own successes into dramatic improvements for you.

We have tutors in a variety of locations including, but not limited to, New York City (and the boroughs), New Jersey, Long Island, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco. If we don’t have a tutor in your area, tutors are able to travel to your location or we conduct tutoring and coaching sessions via distance learning, using online technology.

Bara Sapir, Founder and Executive Director of Test Prep New York, meets with each prospective client to design a Success Program and match them with the best tutors or practicioners!

BARA SAPIR, M.A., CHt, CNLP, Reiki (practioner)

Bara is an internationally recognized expert in high-performance coaching, personal empowerment and transformative test preparation. She partners with each of her students to achieve success. She is an inspirational, highly skilled, passionate expert and teacher with twenty years’ experience teaching test prep, including six years as an instructor for The Princeton Review.

Sapir is the pioneer in bringing holistic, human potential techniques to the test preparation field, she is the creator of HypnoPrep® and Yoga for Your Mind®, which optimize test-taking results and professional success by reducing anxiety and enhancing concentration, confidence, and ease. To make these proven techniques available to a wider audience, Sapir has produced the Full Potential Audio Course — a unique interactive 5 hour course for standardized tests, as well Study Support for College and Highschool. She, along with her head verbal specialist and TPNY staff, wrote the forthcoming books published by by Nova Press on the GMAT and MCAT.

Sapir has coached hundreds of clients, including students at top prep schools, physicians, entertainment and advertising professionals, and advisors to U.S. government leaders. Her clients have been accepted at such leading schools as Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, INSEAD, London School of Business, Northwestern, Stanford, University of Chicago, UCLA, UC-Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, University of Wisconsin and many more.

Sapir holds masters degrees in Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary and Art History from the University of Michigan. She has certification in Hypnosis, Neurolingistic Programing and is Reiki practicioner. She is a published author and professional artist. She conducts workshops for students, parents, educators, business people, and creative professionals seeking high-performance results at school, work, and in life. She lives in New York City.

ALAN BROWN, “Test Prep Hero” (and Vice President of Business Development)

Alan Brown’s extensive marketing and management experience spans from the entertainment, education and automotive industries. In addition to his experience, he is a perfect fit with TPNY, because his philosophy in understanding and meeting client needs then tirelessly exceeding their expectations. His contributions to TPNY helps inspire and produce the highest scoring test-takers. Brown’s marketing and business specialty is event planning, product promotion and media events, which he developed in his 15-year tenure at Warner Brothers Records, where he rose to VP of tour marketing and artist development. He is most well known for his forward-thinking marketing with American Express, the organization of Fleetwood Mac’s performance at Bill Clinton’s inaugural ball in 1993, and his high-impact project development as one of the creators, developers and coordinators of Lalapalooza with Perry Farrell. He has helped build and acted as consultant for several successful companies, and continues to be a sought after consultant for a variety of industries.
